In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Quiet, well-equipped rooms — Soundproofed windows, air conditioning and private bathrooms come up again and again in guest reviews. The room score of 9.2 reflects that consistency.
  • Helpful, responsive hosts — Guests describe quick communication, smooth check-ins and useful local tips, and the staff score of 9.4 is the highest category rating.
  • Convenient transport links — A short walk from Manzoni metro and close to the main station, Double B is a practical base for airport transfers and city sightseeing.
  • Strong facilities for a B&B — The facilities category scores a perfect 10, supported by free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, a safe in every room and a paid airport shuttle.

Worth weighing

4 to weigh
  • Check-out is early — Guests have until 10:00 on the day of departure, and check-in is limited to 12:30–23:30. That works fine for most city breaks, but it leaves little room for a slow final morning.
  • Not a hotel for pets — The stated policy is clear: pets are not allowed. The amenity list mentions pet amenities available, but the house rules take precedence.
  • Paid airport transfer — The hotel can arrange an airport shuttle, but it's listed as a paid service, so build that into your travel budget if you plan to use it.
  • Vatican requires a ride — St. Peter's Basilica is roughly a 10-minute drive from the B&B, so travellers with Vatican-heavy itineraries should plan for transport rather than a walk.

“The soundproofed windows kept the room quiet and we slept well. Traditional furniture gave the space some character, and the en-suite bathroom came with a shower, bidet and hairdryer. The room had a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and a safe, and the public areas offered tea and coffee. Being in the historic centre made it easy to reach restaurants serving Roman food, and free Wi-Fi worked throughout. Self-parking and express check-out were useful, and the airport shuttle simplified transfers. Luggage storage was generous, and the metro was close enough for hopping around the sights. The host ran everything professionally, and the in-room tea and coffee facilities were a nice extra. For anyone interested in Rome's history, the Central Station district and its ancient landmarks were a good base.”

“Rooms were spacious enough, with a pleasant temperature throughout. Staff were helpful at every moment. Each unit had its own bathroom. The food was excellent. The location worked well: close to the Colosseum, central Rome and the metro stops.”

8.5Verified guest

“The staff are genuinely kind and ready to help with anything. The location is strong — about a mile from the Colosseum — and there is a good restaurant right by the hotel.”

8.5Verified guest

“We had a great stay in central Rome. The location was ideal — a few minutes' walk to Manzoni metro and close to the main station, which made airport transfer easy. The room was clean, comfortable and matched the photos. Staff were friendly and helpful, with good tips for sightseeing. We also made use of the well-stocked kitchen and cooked some meals ourselves. Overall, a genuinely pleasant experience.”

“Communication with the owner was excellent — he replied quickly and sorted out a smooth check-in. Being close to the train station made exploring easy, and the room was clean and well cared for. There were a couple of small drawbacks, but I'd still recommend it for the service and cleanliness.”

“A great, cosy B&B experience. The hosts were friendly, and the location near the metro and sights was perfect. It exceeded the expectations I had from a previous trip to Rome.”
